“My New York self is laughing. You live where? Never heard of it.”

I talk to a person in our small town. He asks, “Where are you originally from?” I mention that I lived in New York for ten years. He tells me about a magazine article he read on New York. We talk about the article. He doesn’t ask me about New York.
